"Have you received a text message from Royal Mail like the one below? The monetary amount may be different but this is a scam. The purpose of this text is to get your details and banking details so that your money can be removed from your account

There's a test that you can apply when you see this sort of message. Just ask yourself if it is likely that the Royal Mail - or whoever - would have your mobile phone number (or your email address).

“I had another scam text yesterday. Mobile number, generic text referring to shipping for my recent order. Like so many I did have a recent order, but after contacting the sender whom I know personally, I realised it was a scam & blocked the number & deleted the text. It pays to shop with people you know.“
