Grange Association recommends Safeland, the first fully collaborative safety app.
(Forgive some of this being in Swedish)
If we made more use of this as a community, someone could instantly report a break-in, vandalism or car theft and others' smartphones would alert neighbours immediately. This would be at a level above our successful Whatsapp groups, Neighbourhood Watch groups etc ... and be available information to anyone registered.
I think it's time to "promote" Safeland again, after the burglaries of the other night !
There are three levels of groups (communities) :
Public Group :
In a public group "anyone can join and it will show up in search results" - we have Edinburgh EH9
Locked Group :
In a locked group "everyone can find and request to join the group, but requires an approval from a group administrator" - we have Grange Association Area (Edinburgh)
Private Group :
A private group "will never be visible in search results and users will need an invitation from a group administrator in order to join the group" - there is at least one in our area, but … can't tell you what it is as it's private !
(we can be fortunate at times that there is "nothing to report" in our area - whereas there probably are things happening .. just to let you see what the Safeland map looks like, populated, here is an example screenshot)
