Normal topicCraigmount School - 52 Dick Place

I live in the Grange and I'm doing some research (for my own interest) on schools in the Grange area and have started with Craigmount School, 52 Dick Place, now Wyvern Park. The school opened in around 1867 and evacuated to Scone Palace in 1939. A school named Craigmount continued there and later at Minto House near Hawick where it closed in 1966. Can you help me with my research?

- how were the buildings used after the school left in 1939? I know it was converted into 15 flats in circa 1947.

- when were the buildings demolished and the "donkey field" created?

- does anyone have memories of the school in any of the locations?

- I have found photos of the front and the back of the school and one after it was demolished, does anyone have any others?

Please make contact if you can help. I'd be happy to share my research if you are interested.
