Planning application 20/04517/FUL was submitted in October 2020 for the redevelopment of the site to the north of the Avenue Store. The proposal was for a modern house to replace the present buildings. We submitted this objection. The application was refused in February 2021 for reasons set out in the Council's Planners' Handling Report.

A revised application 21/03066/FUL has now been submitted, which the applicant shared with us prior to submission, for which we are grateful. It includes this visualisation of the proposed street elevation.

Our objection to the original proposal related to two aspects:

• Loss of parking for local convenience shop and Post Office; and
• Siting of new house too close to the roadway.

The revised proposals retain a new vehicle entrance on Blackford Avenue for off-street parking. The principal elevation of the new house would still be just 2.9m from the kerb of Blackford Avenue. We have already sought views from our members who stay nearby but we are also keen to solicit views from those from farther afield who may be affected.
