Every night there is a huge amount of thumping music noise coming from 14 Kilgraston Road (at junction with Oswald Road) which starts around 11.30 p.m and continues until the early hours of the morning sometimes 2 a.m. As most of us living within earshot are elderly (but not deaf!) this is highly inconsiderate and is depriving us of much needed sleep at this stressful time. Not sure how to deal with this as it's certainly emanating from this mid 20C house with large garden. The house is illuminated like a Christmas tree all evening until the music stops. It is not suitable for this mostly quiet neighbourhood. Any suggestions?

I'd start with the police - whilst it is ongoing … this is what the Council say : https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/noise/report-noise-neighbouring-residential-properties

Calling the police on 101 is definitely the correct action. It should be done while the disturbance is happening. I am told they are very helpful. It also helps if you keep a log of when the disturbance happens.
